Bowen Song

The timeline of works on paper in this exhibition spans four years, and an interesting route can be seen.
Gout pot

Questionmark Projection Higashiyamato City, Tokyo
"Gout pot" is a seafood pot that puts a lot of oysters, shirataki, and monkfish liver in a hot pot. Diners know that the high purine content will cause gout and joint pain, but they still go to taste it in an endless stream. "It's a bit like my feeling. It's a kind of self-entertainment mood that you know is not healthy, but you eat it happily. But unhealthy is also viewed from an objective perspective. When people eat gout pot, their bodies actually want to eat it." In Song Bowen's eyes, this seems to be a kind of original joy that transcends rationality, contradictions and helplessness.
The name of the exhibition also reveals a kind of movie-like black humor in Pang Ho-cheung's "You Shoot, I Shoot". This exhibition is mainly centered on his works on paper, which is a reaffirmation of what he once realized in the past.

Selected Works
This exhibition is only open at night, which is an interesting attempt, because most of my works in this exhibition are on paper. I often create works on paper late at night after returning home from the studio, so I want to bring the audience into my emotions at that time.
